Pedicure Routine

  1. Wash hands
  2. Spray feet with sanitiser or wipe with antiseptic
  3. Examine the feet and nails
  4. Soak both feet, choose nail varnish and check consistency

Foot 1

  1. Remove foot from water and dry
  2. Remove nail polish and check nails
  3. Clip/file nails to acheive a straight edge
  4. Apply cuticle cream and massage, place back into the water to soak

Foot 2

  1. Reapeat the steps for Foot 1

Foot 1

  1. Remove foot from water and dry. 
  2. Apply cuticle remover
  3. Gently push back cuticles with cuticle pusher/hoof stick
  4. Clean under the free edge with orange tipped stick
  5. Gently loosen the eponychium with cuticle knife. (Keep wet and flat)
  6. Use cuticle nippers where necessary to remove rough edfges or excess eponychium
  7. use nail brush if necessary
  8. use rasp or callus file to remove hard skin. Alternatively use hard skin remover, scrub or cream exfoliator. (Place tissue/couch roll uner foot for hard skin and dispose after use.
  9. Rinse foot and dry
  10. Remove any rough edges on the free edge and buff nails if required.
  11. Wrap in towel if necessary to keep warm and place foot to one side.

Foot 2

Repeat steps above 1-11

Foot 1

Perform foot and lower leg massage.

The Pedicure Massage Routine

Support the leg at all times. Esure patron is comfortable and relaxed. Warm foot cream or lotion

  1. 8 X Efleurage strokes from toes to knees, slide down the back of the leg towards the foot.
  2. 8 X Petrissage (thumb kneading) to the front of the leg from ankle to knee
  3. 8 X Petrissage (palmer kneading) to the calf
  4. 4 X Double handed Effleurage from ankle (tarsus) to knee (patella)
  5. Tapotement (whipping) of the toes (metatarsals and phanges)
  6. 4 X Effleurage to foot
  7. 4 X Finger Petrissage to ankle,including Achilles Tendon. Slide down to toes (phanlanges)
  8. Petrissage over the top of the foot (metatarsals)
  9. 4 X Efleurage the foot
  10. 4 X Depp thumb kneading to sole of foot
  11. Using the palm of the hand apply pressure to sole of foot and flex pushing towards the patron (Dorsiflexion)
  12. Roatate foot X 2 clockwise
  13. Roatate foot X 2 anti-clockwise
  14. 8 X Double handed Efflurage from ankle to knee and slide down to finish on toes (phanlanges)

Finish with polish routine.
